Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank

Location: Queens, New York

Shift: Evening Shift – Monday to Friday (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM)

Hours: 35 Hours per Week

Pay Rate: $74/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist with Blood Bank expertise to support laboratory operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will perform blood bank testing procedures, maintain quality standards, and ensure accurate and timely reporting while adhering to all regulatory and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing and procedures within the Blood Bank department
• Conduct blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and compatibility testing
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory results
• Maintain compliance with laboratory quality assurance standards and safety protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Verify specimen integrity and testing accuracy
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing discrepancies as needed
• Maintain regulatory documentation and laboratory records
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support patient care

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience in Blood Bank required
• Associate Degree from an accredited Laboratory Technology program required
• Valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (NYSED License 092) required
• Primary Source Verification required
• Strong knowledge of blood bank procedures and laboratory protocols
• BLS Certification required
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• English proficiency required (spoken, written, and reading)
