NOW HIRING – OMAKASE SUSHI SERVER

We are seeking an experienced Omakase Sushi Server to join our team in a refined, high-touch dining environment.

This role requires a deep understanding of omakase service style, pacing, guest engagement, and culinary storytelling. The ideal candidate is polished, detail-oriented, and comfortable delivering an elevated, intimate dining experience.

Prior experience in an omakase or similarly high-end tasting menu concept is essential to success in this role.

Sushi Server (Omakase Bar)

Location:   Gansevoort Hotel Group / Saishin Restaurant
Reports To:   Sushi Chef & Restaurant Leadership Team

What You’ll Do

As a Sushi Server, you will:

• Provide attentive, gracious, detail-oriented service at the sushi/omakase bar
• Guide guests through the menu, chef specialties, cocktails, wine selections, and pairings
• Present and serve sushi with professionalism and confidence
• Ensure a seamless five-star dining experience from welcome to farewell
• Properly open and pour wine tableside
• Accurately enter and transmit food and beverage orders
• Maintain awareness of meal pacing and communicate with the kitchen
• Address guest questions and resolve concerns with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
• Handle payments and ensure accurate cash and tip distribution
• Complete opening, side work, and closing procedures
• Support team members and assist with special events as needed

You will also serve as a   Brand Ambassador, upholding the standards, integrity, and excellence associated with the Gansevoort Hotel Group.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• English language fluency
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work schedule to include weekends and holidays
• 1+ years of serving experience, in Omakase style Japanese restaurant preferred
