PURPOSE:
Shattuck St. Mary’s (SSM), an independent college preparatory boarding/day school (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking a full-time math instructor starting in August 2026. who will teach sections of Geometry and Algebra II. SSM offers a mix of traditional and progressive education, combining classroom and online learning to best prepare students for college and beyond. Class sizes are capped at 18 students per section and the student body is motivated to succeed. We are a global community defined by engagement, openness, and persistence. Through immersive learning and our signature programs, we empower students to shape and accelerate their goals, grow as individuals, and lead with integrity. Candidates will be comfortable instructing in an innovative educational environment, familiar with technology in the classroom, and open to blended teaching.
We are looking for a math teacher who brings learning to life through engaging activities, hands-on experiences, and inquiry-based instruction. We also value a team member who demonstrates strong leadership and enjoys collaborating with colleagues in the math department.
SSM is a boarding/day school and faculty members are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential life duties involved with a residential school setting. In addition, full-time teachers serve as advisors to a group of students. Shattuck-St. Mary’s teacher salaries are based on experience and range from $39,000 for beginning teachers to the mid-70s for our most experienced faculty members. In addition to cash salaries, SSM teachers are eligible to receive generous benefits including family housing and meals on campus.
