Labcorp is seeking a Histotechnician to join our team in  Lakewood, CO.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM

Job Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic exam
• Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimens
• Section the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slide
• Perform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections
• Process mounted sections through routine and special staining procedures
• Properly orient and embed surgical tissue specimens
• Prepare the stains and reagents needed for special procedures
• Report accurate and time ly test res ults in order to deliver quality patient ca re 
• Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments
• Perform and document equipment maintenance as needed
• Record e quipment l og data in an accurate and t imely man n er
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures   
• Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies
• Follow the laboratory's proce du res for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reporting
• Document problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Histology or a High School diploma or equivalent with 6 months or more of histology experience

Preferred Qualification:

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Histology and/or ASCP certifications

Additional Job Standards

• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
• Immunohistochemistry experience
• Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens
• Ability to accurately read all labels and documents
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

**Pay Range: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour plus shift differential

All jo b offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
