CDL-A Local Shuttle Driver – Chester / Richmond, VA

Home Daily | $25.50/hr | Union Position

We are hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for a local shuttle position supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations in the Chester / Richmond, VA (23234) area. This is a home-daily, hourly role with steady work and a full benefits package.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $25.50 per hour

• Pay Type: Hourly

• Average Weekly Hours: 40–45 (not guaranteed)

• Estimated Weekly Gross: Approximately $980 (40 hours)

• Pay Increases: Contractual increases

• Bonuses: None

• Guarantee Pay: None

Home Time

• Home daily

• 4–5 day work week depending on shift

• Multiple shifts available (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

• Drivers must be flexible with start times and schedules

Job Details

• Shuttle runs between manufacturing and warehouse locations

• Combination of drop and hook, live pickup, and live delivery

• Drivers enter and exit the truck multiple times per shift

• No driver unload

• Typical workload ranges from 5–12 loads per day

• Training provided on special equipment and auto/self-unloading trailers

Equipment & Parking

• Day cabs

• Possible slip-seat operation

• Truck parking available in Chester, VA and onsite in Richmond

Hiring Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Minimum 12 months verifiable experience (1–2 years preferred)

• Must pass enhanced background screening for badge clearance

• Completion of customer-specific background check and training required

• Union-represented position (drivers may choose whether to pay union dues)

Example Shifts (subject to change)

• Monday–Friday: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM

• Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Sunday–Wednesday: 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Schedules and start times may vary based on operational needs.

Holidays & Time Off

• Federal holidays observed (shutdowns vary by location)

• Holiday pay based on company holiday schedule

• Vacation pay based on average weekly pay from the prior 52 weeks

Orientation

• Paid orientation: $225 or $125 depending on pre-arrival paperwork

• Paid after first dispatch or first day of work

• Duration: 1–3 days (average 1 day)
